Block B6 - Research


(The following are based on memories of just one person: Waqqas Hanafi).

  1. Interpret SPSS results table. (2 or 3 questions)
  2. Variable types: nominal, ratio, interval, etc. (4 or 5 questions)
  3. Statistical tests: when they're used, what result they give, and what sort of variables they can accept. (5 or 6 questions)
  4. Difference between two-tailed and one-tailed.
  5. Skripsi/proposal sections. e.g. which section do you discuss previously done research? which section discusses suggestions for future research?
  6. When to use boxplot, scatterplot, bar-chart, etc.
  7. Bioethics-related international agreements, e.g. Belmont Report, Nuremberg, etc. (a question asked what year Belmont was signed)
  8. GCLP vs GCP vs GLP.
  9. Differentiate cross-sectional, cohort, and case-control. (3 or 4 questions)
  10. Differentiate between descriptive and analytical.
  11. RCT.
  12. Know PICO and FINER. (answer was "novel")
  13. Reliability vs validity.
  14. Muskogee syphilis trial.
  15. Beneficence.
  16. Several questions about randomization types.
  17. Know that if data has even number of values, the median will be the mean of the two central numbers.
  18. Sample vs population vs target population.
  19. Odds ratio vs relative risk. Know the difference and usage in types of study design.
  20. Components of informed consent.
  21. Best way to kill animal? (answer: CO2 chamber. or perhaps guillotine?).
