For some reason, many doctors in Gadjah Mada University refer to this as the "Gadjah Mada Stroke Algorithm" even though it is used extensively all over the world.

  • Assess patient for three signs/symptoms:
    1. Loss of consciousness.
    2. Headache.
    3. Babinsky reflex.
  • If all three are negative, or just Babinsky reflex is positive, then it is ischaemic stroke.
  • Otherwise, it is hemorrhagic stroke.
