Basics

Study these basics before entering this station.

  1. GCS
  2. VAS
  3. Cranial nerve exam
    1. Central or peripheral?
    2. Where is the lesion if abnormal?
  4. Physiological and pathological reflex examinations.
    1. What does positive or negative look like and what it means.
  5. Innervation of the surface of the body.
  6. Javanese terms for various types of numbness, dizziness, and other similar feelings.

Equipment

Purchase and bring this equipment with you.

  1. Stethoscope.
  2. Reflex hammer with sharp edge on the handle.
  3. Toothpicks or a dull needle (sometimes comes with the reflex hammer).
  4. Cotton sticks (q-tips).
  5. Mask, since there are B20 patients and either you may infect them or they may infect you (with TB, for example).
